Texas inmates learn woodworking skills, creations sold on Etsy by sheriff’s office

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Inmates at the Nueces County Jail are gaining valuable woodworking skills through a program that allows them to transform scrap wood into marketable products.

The initiative, run by the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office, enables inmates to create items such as shelves, wall art, and benches, which are then sold on Etsy.
