CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Aransas County is making big moves for conservation with the recent purchase of a 950-acre stretch of natural habitat called Copano Cove Ranch.
Just a few miles from downtown Rockport, this thriving coastal ecosystem supports more than 3,000 species of plants and animals.
Aransas County Judge Ray Garza said it took nearly 1.5 years for the county to officially purchase property also known to some as the old Bailey Ranch.
