Sinton Animal Friends earns nonprofit status, expands efforts to save strays

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — From a State Farm office in Sinton, a group of volunteers are proving the company slogan true. For more than eight years, they’ve been “like a good neighbor” by extending a helping hand to those with paws.

Sinton Animal Friends recently earned its official nonprofit status, a milestone the group hopes will bring more donations and eventually a facility of their own. For the past six years, the organization has partnered with the city’s animal shelter, where volunteers vaccinate, medicate, and scan dogs for microchips to prepare them for adoption.
