Gregory-Portland, Sinton, Taft, Mathis and Odem runners turned in strong showings Saturday at the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Splash, with several athletes and teams medaling in the large and medium/small school divisions.
The Gregory-Portland girls finished fourth in the large-school division with 164 points. Caitlyn Odom led the way in 21 minutes, 19 seconds, good for ninth overall. She was followed by Zoe Espinoza (22:15, 22nd), Alexia Reeves (22:56, 41st), Emmi Bhagat (22:56, 42nd), Jessamine Andersen (23:15, 51st) and Rebecca Cochran (23:59, 77th).
On the boys’ side, Diego Adame paced G-P in the large-school division in 17:50 for 11th place overall, with Jack Joppa (19:00, 56th) and Colton Bronk (19:32, 92nd) also contributing…
