CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County is eliminating its grants administration department and transferring the responsibility to Coastal Parks Director Scott Cross, a move county leaders say will help ease the burden on taxpayers.
“I stopped counting at $32 million. And so the expansion of Padre Balli Park, Briscoe King Pavilion, old and new, expansion of IB McGee Park, all the stuff we’re doing at Packery, those are all 100% grant funded. There’s not a single dime of property tax dollars going into it,” Cross said.
