CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If it feels like every street in Corpus Christi is under construction, you’re not imagining things. The city says at least 69 bond projects are either underway or in the design phase, carrying a price tag of more than $700 million.
City Engineer Jeff Edmonds explained that number is what’s left on contracts that haven’t been completed.
“I’ve got an excess of $700 million of construction backlog… that means my backlog… that’s the value of the construction contracts minus what has been paid on those contracts so there’s construction yet to be performed,” he said…
