CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M Corpus Christi is asking Texas shoreline property owners to weigh in on a new study exploring alternatives to stabilize the shoreline and protect it from erosion.
Part of a project funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the research focuses on living shorelines — nature-based solutions such as wetlands, plants and oyster reefs that can help protect coastal property.
“We have seen more and more people moving to the coast and more and more people being attracted to living on a shoreline,” said Dr. Diana Del Angel, an Associate Research Scientist leading the study. “It’s a beautiful place to live.”…
