The Carroll Lady Dragons showed Tuesday night that they can compete with anyone in the state.
Ranked No. 34 nationally and No. 2 in the Dallas-area 6A poll, Carroll battled top-ranked Trophy Club Byron Nelson in a four-set District 4-6A showdown, ultimately falling 25-13, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-19.
Nelson, the defending Class 6A Division II state champion and nation’s top team, extended its winning streak to 66 matches while improving to 30-0 on the season.
