Students at Rockport-Fulton Middle School received hands-on lessons in both engineering and natural science on Sept. 29, when two guest speakers visited classrooms to share their expertise.
In the engineering class, local architect Smith Nguyen introduced students to the world of architecture and explained how the profession differs from engineering. Nguyen shared a design for a home he created and then showed photographs of the completed house in Fulton. He challenged students to create their own drawings based on the blueprint he provided.
