CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County officials have confirmed the detection of West Nile virus in a mosquito pool collected near Chapman Ranch, marking the first positive mosquito sample reported in the county since 2024, according to a county news release from Judge Connie Scott and Public Works Director Juan Pimentel.
Residents in the area are encouraged to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
