CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a ‘Red Flag Warning’ on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to low humidity levels and strong winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the coastal bend.
NWS reported that a red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly.
The combination of dry air, low humidity, and strong winds can cause any fires that ignite to spread rapidly, prompting officials to strongly discourage outdoor burning.
