Laredo mother faces felony charges in infant cocaine case

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – The unsettling details of a child’s injury began to surface on September 10, 2023, when an urgent report reached the Laredo Police Department headquarters. A dispatch supervisor relayed a critical call from a social worker at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, initiating a deeper investigation.

According to the social worker, a then 1-year-old boy had been airlifted from Doctors Hospital in Laredo to Corpus Christi. There, medical tests confirmed the devastating presence of cocaine in his system. The child was admitted to Doctors Hospital after experiencing seizures while watching television.
