Robstown man sentenced to 15 years in prison for pointing gun at sheriff’s deputy

A 45-year-old Robstown man who attempted to fire a gun at a local sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop will serve a 180-month sentence in federal prison, U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei announced in a news release Nov. 13.

Guadalupe Calderon III pleaded guilty July 31 in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Texas Corpus Christi Division to felony possession of a firearm, according to court records.

U.S. District Judge David S. Morales ordered Calderon’s sentence to be immediately followed by three years of supervised release, the news release said…
