CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — At Bay Area Brewing Co. in Rockport, customers come for a cold beer — and often end up meeting Spur, the brewery’s one-spurred rooster who struts through the bar like he runs the place. He’s become a familiar sight for regulars and a symbol of the community spirit the owners say defines the business.
“He goes up in his oak tree every night. He’s part of the family here,” said co-owner Will Amaya. “Everybody that comes knows him. He’s real popular.”
This Small Business Saturday, the brewery is joining a statewide effort to support Texas craft breweries.
