South Texas: Chilly on Friday, but a big weather shift is coming this weekend

The last few days have brought cold and cloudy weather across South Texas, with patchy off-and-on drizzle. That gray, dreary weather will stick around Friday as moisture continues to stream in from the south.

But welcome changes will arrive this weekend. A shift in the weather pattern will send much drier air into the region on Saturday, finally bringing the sun back out. Temperatures will climb to slightly above-average levels, though weather models are pointing to yet another cold front early next week. Here’s what you can expect.

Friday’s forecast

Scattered areas of drizzle are expected periodically through Friday morning, especially between 5 and 10 a.m. Overall rain chances are about 30-40%. However, total rainfall will be very light, with most areas across South Texas picking up just a few hundredths of an inch, at most.

Rainfall will be slightly heavier as you move toward the coast. Corpus Christi, Victoria, Houston and Galveston could pick up a few tenths of an inch of rain…
