CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi man accused of shooting two people during an August altercation outside of the Ayers Market has pleaded not guilty to multiple felony charges.
Ernesto Mondragon, 33, entered a plea of not guilty Thursday to nine counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His attorney, Kyle Hoelscher, confirmed the plea following Mondragon’s arraignment.
The charges stem from an Aug. 20 shooting that occurred around 6:20 p.m., when officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Ayers Market. Senior Officer Antonio Contreras said two people were shot and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
