CCPD officers respond to ‘shots fired’ call at Motel 6, arrest suspect without incident

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A late-night shots fired call at a Motel 6 on Paul Jones and South Padre Island Drive ended peacefully Sunday after officers evacuated nearby rooms and took a suspect into custody without incident, police told 3NEWS.

Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were dispatched to the 8200 block of S.P.I.D. after receiving reports of gunfire inside the hotel at 10:59 p.m., according to CCPD Public Information Officer Antonio Contreras.

Contreras said that as officers responded, updates indicated that an occupant inside one of the hotel rooms had fired several gunshots. When police arrived, they were able to identify the room involved and immediately began evacuating adjacent rooms to ensure the safety of other guests…
