Beeville
The Beeville Art Museum (BAM) will open a solo exhibition by Round Top painter William Anzalone on January 17, running through March 28, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Anzalone moved to Houston in 1959. He later relocated to Round Top, where he became known primarily for his landscape paintings of Central Texas. In a press release, Tracy Saucier, Director of BAM, said of Mr. Anzalone’s approach, “His work allows us to engage with art that is deeply rooted in tradition and strikingly contemporary.”
Corpus Christi
The Art Museum of South Texas (AMST) in Corpus Christi will present In Nature’s Studio: Two Centuries of American Landscape Painting, a traveling exhibition organized by the Reading Public Museum in Reading, Pennsylvania, from January 22 to May 3, 2026. In Nature’s Studio traces the shift from 19th century landscape painting by artists including Thomas Birch, Frederic Church, and Worthington Whittredge, to turn of the century plein air paintings by artists such as George Inness, N. C. Wyeth, and Childe Hassam, who explored Impressionist techniques of light and atmospheric effects…
