Donna Shaver, the biologist who has for decades led a renowned sea turtle recovery program in Corpus Christi, said Dec. 31 that she is stepping down from her position as Texas coordinator of a federal network that documents strandings of sea turtles.
Shaver announced her exit from the Sea Turtle Stranding and Salvage Network in a Facebook post, saying she was “leaving this role with devastating sadness and not by choice.” She wrote that she could not answer questions about her departure.
