CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — From haircuts to nails to skincare, the cosmetology program at Del Mar College has helped thousands of students earn their certifications. Now, the school is taking it a step further by adding an associate degree of applied science — something Alanna Voorhess has had her eye on.
“I just think it’s really nice to be able to help people feel good about themselves,” Voorhess said. “I think our job kind of helps people feel seen and heard, especially when we give them focused attention for the duration of the appointment, however long that takes.”
