Judge Sid Harle denies Uvalde CISD Officer Adrian Gonzales’ mistrial request

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Nexstar) — After the trial of Adrian Gonzales, a former Uvalde CISD officer who responded to the Robb Elementary School shooting in May 2022, was put on hold Tuesday, Judge Sid Harle has denied the defense’s request for a mistrial.

Gonzales is charged with 29 counts of child endangerment for his response at Robb Elementary, where 19 students and two teachers were shot and killed.

Harle said the misconduct — which stemmed from the prosecution not disclosing that its witness would give novel evidence beneficial to their case on the witness stand — was negligent but not intentional. While Harle denied the motion for mistrial, he said he would be open to throwing Hale’s testimony out…
