Aransas Pass man gets 12 years in prison for shooting at Port Arthur police officers

BEAUMONT, Texas — A 35-year-old Aransas Pass man received a 12-year prison sentence Wednesday for firing shots at Port Arthur police officers during a 2023 incident that began with a bar altercation.

Jefferson County District Judge Raquel West sentenced Michael Keith Brasher, 35, of Aransas Pass, Texas, in accordance with a jury’s punishment recommendation following his conviction for aggravated assault, Jefferson County District Attorney Keith Giblin announced in a January 15 news release.
