Woman leads police in high-speed chase in stolen vehicle in south Texas

PORTLAND, Texas — A high-speed chase involving a stolen SUV ended with the arrest of a 38-year-old woman near the Sinton exit, according to a press release from the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began when the Department of Public Safety attempted to stop a vehicle in Portland, Texas, but the driver sped away, leading authorities on a pursuit through Gregory and Taft on US181.

The SUV was confirmed stolen from Corpus Christi as it eluded Taft Police. Four deputies coordinated the use of deflating spikes, successfully deflating three tires and bringing the chase to an end.
