Renovations nearing $200K coming to H-E-B in Texas coastal town

An underrated Texas beach town is set to get a fresh upgrade at one of its H-E-B stores. The San Antonio-based grocery chain is planning a nearly $200,000 renovation at the H-E-B Plus! in Corpus Christi, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The popular coastal store is located at 1145 Waldron Road, right along the John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway. This 3,280-foot-long bridge connects the mainland (Flour Bluff) to North Padre Island over the Laguna Madre in Corpus Christi, which was named as one of the most “underrated” in the South by Travel + Leisure.

H-E-B aims to implement a minor interior remodel, according to the TDLR filing published on Friday, February 13. Renovations are slated to start on March 16 and are expected to finish on June 1. It’s estimated to cost $185,000…
