SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary’s University juniors Gabriela Banda (San Antonio) and Samiya Johnson (Corpus Christi, Texas) both went 4-for-6 at the plate with a combined 10 RBIs in Softball’s doubleheader sweep of Sul Ross State on Sunday afternoon. The Rattlers won 9-0 and 12-1 in a pair of run-rule contests to improve to 12-7 on the year.
St. Mary’s put the pressure on the Lobos (2-11, 0-6) throughout the day, stealing 12 bases. The seven swipes in game one tie for the fifth most in a single game in school history and are the most in a game since 2011.
Freshman Peyton Miers (San Antonio) led the team with three stolen bases, and junior Bryley Westfahl (San Antonio) added two more to her impressive total. She is now a perfect 21-for-21 in thefts on the year…
