Federal officials highlight importance of Corpus Christi Army Depot jobs during tour

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Federal and local leaders say protecting jobs at the Corpus Christi Army Depot is critical for both national security and the Coastal Bend economy.

CCAD is widely recognized as the world’s largest helicopter repair facility, but has lost thousands of jobs in recent years. The decline prompted a visit Friday from John Cornyn and Under Secretary of the U.S. Army Michael Obadal, who oversees Army depots across the country.
