TENNIS: Lions suffer first Southland loss

HAMMOND — The Southeastern Louisiana University women’s tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday morning at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

Southeastern fell to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in Southland Conference play. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi improved to 12-2 overall and 2-1 in league action.

“I loved the attitude and fight we showed today,” Southeastern head coach Jason Hayes said. “We had some opportunities, but give the Islanders credit, they were the better team.”…
