Three Sinton Pirates advanced to the Texas High School Powerlifting Association state meet with their performances at the Region 5 Division 2 competition on March 14 at JK Northway Arena in Kingsville.
Leading the Pirates was Isaac Constante, who placed second in the 308-pound division with a total of 1,530 pounds. Constante recorded lifts of 645 in the squat, 355 in the bench press and 530 in the deadlift to earn a state-qualifying berth.
Sinton also received a strong performance from Sebastian Morales, who finished third in the 198-pound class with a 1,565-pound total (585 squat, 415 bench, 565 deadlift), securing a state-qualifying total…
