A now-former employee of the Nueces River Authority (NRA) has accused NRA Executive Director John Byrum in a resignation letter of allegedly misleading the company’s board of directors, according to multiple reports.
Multiple reports say that former NRA Chief Operating Office Travis Pruski alleged in a resignation letter on March 27 that Byrum allegedly brought inaccurate water sales numbers before the board, among other alleged actions.
The City of Corpus Christi had voted last October to pay the NRA nearly $3 million to reserve water once they build a planned Harbor Island desalination plant amidst the major water crisis in South Texas and the Coastal Bend.
