Oconee Blotter: Colbert woman leads deputies on chase on wedding day

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

SHOPLIFTING CONFESSION: On May 9, Deputy Annessa Glenn was dispatched to Walmart, where a loss prevention officer watched as a 42-year-old Dacula man switched prices on items including jeans, motor oil, and an oil filter. In all, he was taking about $117 in merchandise and paying only $18. As he walked out the door, he was confronted. He explained to the officer that he was only stealing the items that he “actually needed.”

SHOPLIFTING CASE: On May 9, Deputy Annessa Glenn was dispatched to Walmart, where a loss prevention officer was watching a 37-year-old Bogart woman conceal books and cosmetics in a bookbag. After taking a teapot and other items, she went to the garden center exit, where Glenn parked her vehicle. The woman then turned and went back inside to the toy department, where she opened more packages. A decision was made to arrest the woman, who was taken to jail after she had concealed more than $400 in merchandise…
