North Georgia Unemployment Rates Remain Below State, National Averages

Unemployment across much of northwest Georgia remained below both the state and national averages in the latest labor market report, highlighting continued strength in the region’s workforce.

Dade County posted an unemployment rate of 2.9 percent, while neighboring Catoosa County came in at 2.8 percent, both below the Georgia unemployment rate of 3.3 percent and well below the national unemployment rate of 4.1 percent.

Other counties in the region also reported low unemployment rates:

  • Walker County: 3.0%
  • Whitfield County: 3.3%
  • Chattooga County: 3.8%
  • Gordon County: 2.8%
