Fulton County Distribution System has issued a boil water notice for a section of north Fulton County, near the 12500 – 12601 block of Crabapple Rd, Alpharetta. This is due to the detection of bacteria during routine sampling. The affected area is about a quarter-mile radius of the mentioned location, east of Green Rd and Crabapple Rd, west of Broadwell Rd and Crabapple Rd, and between Mcfarlin Lane and Crabapple tree Ct.

The notice is a precautionary measure due to potential health risks from bacteria in the area. The source of the bacteria is identified and contained. Fulton County is conducting ongoing sampling in the area, and samples collected around the site show no contamination.

Tests indicate a sink at a local business as the potential source of the bacteria. As a precaution, residents are advised to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, and food preparation. Guidelines for boiling tap water have been provided.

The Centers for Disease Control advises using boiled or bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, washing and preparing food, making ice, and providing water for pets during a Boil Water Advisory. Other activities, like washing clothes and dishes, can be done without boiling tap water.
