Mother, teenage twins shot inside home near Stone Mountain

A mother and her teenage twins were shot in their home near Stone Mountain just after midnight Wednesday, according to authorities.

DeKalb County police said they got a call at around 12:10 a.m. about a shooting in the 400 block of Rock Meadow Drive. The scene is not far from the Wade Walker Family YMCA.

When officers arrived, they found the 42-year-old mother and her twin boy and girl, both 13, with gunshot wounds. They were rushed to a hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, police said. Eight other people were in the house but were uninjured.

Investigators canvassed the scene through the night, and by 5:30 a.m., dozens of evidence markers appearing to record where shell casings had fallen were still scattered in the street in front of the home. Multiple bullets had also pierced a window.
