Police: Marietta Man Hit by Car is in Serious Condition

A Marietta man was hit by a car as he was attempting to cross Powder Springs Street just south of Sandtown Road on Tuesday evening, according to the Marietta Police Department.

Roberto Castillo, 38, was attempting to cross Powder Springs Street near the 600 block of the thoroughfare around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday when he was hit by a Honda CR-V driving southbound, Officer Chuck McPhilamy said.

McPhilamy said Castillo was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by the car, sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

The driver of the Honda CR-V remained on scene and cooperated with investigators, McPhilamy added.

The investigation is ongoing, and police urge anyone with information about the crash to contact Marietta Police Sgt. Miller at 770-794-5344.
