Woodstock Police Hosting National Night Out

The Woodstock Police Department, in partnership with other local public safety agencies, will host the 41st annual National Night Out Oct. 8.

The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 8 on the Woodstock Arts Event Green at 111 Elm St. in downtown Woodstock.

National Night Out is an annual community-building event that promotes police and community partnerships as well as neighborhood camaraderie. The goal is to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

This year’s event will feature K-9 demonstrations, bounce houses, public safety equipment on display, and activities for children of all ages.

“Woodstock Police Department is excited to host National Night Out because this event strengthens the relationship between residents and local law enforcement and that fosters a true sense of community,” Woodstock Police Chief Robert Jones said.

Other partnering agencies include the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee County Marshal’s Office, Cherokee County School Police, Cherokee County E-911, the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency, and the Woodstock Fire Department.
