Holly Springs Police Clock Drivers Traveling Over 100 MPH

The Holly Springs Police Department is asking motorists to slow down when traveling along Interstate 575 after recently clocking two vehicles at speeds over 100 miles per hour.

In a post on the HSPD Facebook page Oct. 16, the department shared a picture showing that a motorist was clocked at a speed of 154 miles per hour while traveling along I-575 the previous night.

“Speeding is dangerous. It endangers lives. Slow down, obey the speed limit, and keep the roads safe,” the post reads.

On Oct. 24, HSPD announced it had clocked another triple-digits speed from an interstate driver.

“Please slow down,” the department said in a Facebook post. “During the morning hours, one of our officers conducted speed enforcement on I-575. He observed a vehicle excessively speeding, which was clocked at a speed of 131 MPH.”

Both drivers have been arrested, the city and HSPD reported.

“We’re very fortunate that no one was injured during the morning rush hour. Please let this serve as a reminder for all of us to remain vigilant and prioritize safety while commuting,” the post reads.
