The Cobb County Water System reported an estimated 230 gallon wastewater sewer overflow occurred on Jan. 4.
The overflow, resulting from solids, occurred at 1400 Marietta Country Club Drive NW in Kennesaw, and discharged into Noonday Creek.
The Water System was notified of the overflow on Jan. 4 at 8:50 a.m. and the overflow was stopped on Jan. 4 at 10:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, the crew observed a manhole spilling with a secured lid. The escaping sewage followed a cart path, entering a storm drain that empties into the creek. After using a jet machine to unstop the sewer line, the crew washed down the cart path. During their time on-site, the crew did not observe any discoloration or fish kills.
