A multi-defendant RICO case involving prescription drug fraud has been closed, the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office announced. The final defendant entered a negotiated guilty plea and was sentenced Jan. 15. This case involved a total of six defendants working together for the common purpose of illegally obtaining prescriptions using a stolen doctor’s prescription pad, the district attorney’s office reported. The medications included Adderall, Alprazolam, Hydrocodone, Phentermine, and Tramadol.
