Tallahassee, FL – A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of Florida and Georgia starting early Sunday morning, with heavy rainfall expected to cause potential flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
According to the National Weather Service, the watch begins at 5 a.m. EST (4 a.m. CST) Sunday and will last through late Sunday night for areas in the Florida Panhandle, Big Bend, and southeastern Georgia. A separate watch for northeast Florida and southeastern Georgia extends through Monday morning. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected, with localized amounts reaching up to 8 inches, increasing the risk of flash flooding.
