Police identify victims in Sunday’s deadly wreck on I-75 in East Ridge

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. — Police in East Ridge have identified the two men who died in a fiery crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-75 in East Ridge Sunday evening.

East Ridge Police Chief Clint Uselton say 23-year-old Lane Smith of Fayetteville, Tennessee and 61-year-old David ‘Jeff’ Huggins of Dawsonville, Georgia were killed.

Smith was the driver of the Jeep involved in the crash. Some juveniles were also in the Jeep, along with a female passenger. All were seriously injured, and are in the intensive care unit. A GoFundMe has been set up to help his family with hospital and funeral costs.
