Georgia 5-Day Forecast: Thunderstorm Risk Thursday and Saturday Could Disrupt Travel and Outdoor Plans

Atlanta, Georgia – Isolated strong storms could shake parts of north Georgia Thursday afternoon as warm, unstable air fuels convective development near the I-20 corridor.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected after 2 p.m. Thursday, especially north of Atlanta. Some storms may turn severe in northeast Georgia, with large hail and gusts over 20 mph. The highest risk stretches from Gainesville to Athens and includes areas along U.S. Highway 78 and I-85.
