Authorities are investigating after a decomposed body was discovered in a tent at a homeless encampment behind a shopping center on Dawsonville Highway in Gainesville.
According to the Gainesville Police Department, authorities were called to the wooded area shortly after noon, May 27, where the body was found inside a tent. Due to the advanced stage of decomposition, officials have not yet been able to identify the person.
