Talking Rock Town Park closed after gallons of oil spilled in Pickens County, sheriff’s office says

PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Officials in Pickens County are waiting for test results to come back after oil spilled Tuesday afternoon.

According to the sheriff’s office, about 94,000 gallons of water contaminated with petroleum were removed in Talking Rock.

Due to the spill, Talking Rock Town Park is closed, as environmental testing is ongoing. The park is home to Talking Rock Creek, a haven for fishing, kayaking and other activities…
