MARIETTA — More than 1,000 local readers packed Marietta’s Switzer Library on Saturday night for the Cobb County Public Library’s annual summer reading program kickoff party.
Kids packed the aisles and conference rooms of the library participating in various activities including a temporary tattoo stand, a photo booth with library mascots Dewey Decimal (a cat) and Rita Book (a sheep dog) and of course, reading.
Multiple arts and crafts tables were set up throughout the library where children could make a beaded necklace, stamp together their own homemade buttons or color in coloring books…
