This week, Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, celebrated the opening of Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation Institute, a free-standing, 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Gainesville on Limestone Parkway.
“Our diverse team of clinicians will provide physical medicine oversight; occupational, physical and speech therapies; internal medicine and medical/surgical consultations all with the support of leading-edge rehabilitation technology,” said Kevin Gohman, executive director of Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation Institute.
With large, multidisciplinary therapy gyms, a micro-apartment for practicing activities of daily living, and innovative robotics and rehabilitation technology – like a Smart Car, a Senaptec Sensory Station, a virtual reality platform for neuro rehabilitation and more – patients benefit from customized, evidence-driven therapy plans, Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation Institute also boasts a secured brain-injury unit for those recovering from acquired brain injuries and stroke, an on-site dedicated pharmacy and rooms designed for treating dialysis patients,” Kevin Matson, vice president of regional hospitals for NGHS noted…
