Lawrenceville kicks off holiday weekend with Prelude to the Fourth

Prepping to open their storefront in the heart of Lawrenceville, Mark Berens, Roswell native and owner of Berens Frozen Custard is still celebrating firsts. After 49 years of working at his father’s company, he handed out frozen delicacies at his first-ever Prelude to the Fourth.

Gwenttians gathered under the sun at the Lawrenceville Lawn Wednesday to ring in the Fourth of July holiday with live music, food trucks and firework show. With local businesses selling everything from mini donuts to iced coffee and the occasional volunteers offering koozie-covered waters and fans, families and friends kicked off the holiday festivities a little early.
