Gwinnett fire officials urge caution while grilling outdoors

The smell of burgers, steaks, chicken and hot dogs cooking over an open flame can make almost anybody’s mouth water, but Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services officials are urging residents to take precautions if they decide to do any outdoor grilling this weekend.

On Wednesday, the fire department offered some tips for safely grilling during the Fourth of July weekend, or any other time this summer really.

“By keeping these safety tips in mind, you can enjoy delicious grilled meals without putting your home or loved ones at risk,” fire department officials said. “A little preparation goes a long way toward making your cookouts both fun and fire safe.”…
