Walton County and its cities receive LMIG funds from Georgia DOT for 2026

Gwinnett County, which is home to a portion of Loganville, also received LMIG funding

Georgia state Rep. Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe) was advised by the Georgia Department of Transportation of the LMIG (Local Maintenance Improvement Grant) awards that have been designated for Gwinnett County as well as Walton County and cities by GDOT for the 2026 year. A portion of the City of Loganville falls within Gwinnett County.

The LMIG is a GDOT program that provides annual state funding to counties and cities to help maintain and improve local roads and bridges. Based on a formula that takes into account population and local road mileage, LMIG funds usually require a 10–30 % local match and are most often used for resurfacing projects, though they can also support safety upgrades, sidewalks, signage, intersection improvements, and bridge repairs.
