Don’t be alarmed if you see a herd of goats foraging in Lilburn City Park. No, there hasn’t been a major escape from a nearby farm. Fritz Family Farms of Monticello has brought in 91 goats with a single mission – munch their way through the kudzu that is creeping along the creek.
These “eco-friendly lawnmowers” will spend about 10 days on the job, clearing invasive vegetation the natural way. Although the goats will be on display from a safe distance, they’re not available for petting.
“The goats provide a sustainable and effective solution for controlling invasive kudzu,” said Lilburn Mayor Johnny Crist in a news release…
