Suwanee residents will likely see a very familiar number on their property tax bill this fall: the rate at which their property will be taxed by the city.
The City Council voted this week to tentatively keep Suwanee’s millage rate at 4.93 mills. What makes that such a familiar number is the fact that it’s the same millage rate that Suwanee has had for the past 13 years. Of course, the planned tax rate is 0.184 mills above what the rollback rate would be to keep tax revenues neutral with last year, so city officials say property owners are in store for a 3.88% tax increase.
